Corporate Social Responsiblity
Reed Learning is part of the Reed family of companies. In 2005, Reed Specialist Recruitment Group became the UK's first major recruitment company to go CarbonNeutral™. As a group, Reed produced 4,208 tonnes of Carbon in 2004. Since 2005 the entire Reed Group's carbon output is now being offset through investment in forestry projects throughout the UK.
Sustainable Training
We think learning makes the future better. Making sure we provide our learning in the most ethical and sustainable way possible is a part of that. We're always trying to find ways to reduce our waste and make the most of our resources. Here are some of the things we do:
- We have significantly reduced our paper based direct marketing. We encourage people to sign up for email and web marketing to reduce our paper use and make sure we offer only relevant, useful information
- All of our print marketing is fully renewable and sustainable. It uses FSC certified paper from renewable forests by ISO14001 certified printers and vegetable based inks. Any print marketing we don't use is recycled
- All our training materials are printed on 100% post-use recycled paper. Since 2009 we've cut the amount of printed material on our courses by over 70% on average by making materials available through greener digital sources
- We use motion sensors and individual light switches to cut down on wasted energy in our training centres, and we use energy-saving equipment wherever possible
- We hate wasting food in our training centre. We do our best to recycle as much as we can and donate what we don't use to good causes. If you know of anyone who can help us get even better at this, please call us
- We encourage eco-friendly behaviour amongst staff through awards, initiatives and best-practice policies
Our Green Courses
Being ethical and sustainable is a core part of our business. If you have any ideas, questions or ways for us to improve we'd love to know, so please give us a call.
